hi guys/Wal,
Where does the industry get a say if it loses confidence in the Minister; Mr Bickers or the Board?  This is a dictatorship within a democracy. The Minister is the dictator who appoints his helpers and as the industry we have no say in what happens.

Democracy IS the system where you vote for your Dictator, cheers

Unfortunately the industry gets FA say. The board is not there for the industry. They're there to keep the public safe from incompetent plumbers :D

The Minister apparently. Right now the best thing you can do is not vote for National or their allies........

I still think a hikoi is whats called for and a show of numbers in our tradesmans vans, all trades.

We are the thin end of the wedge, they did it to the gasfitters first, then the plumbers, and I am pretty sure they intend to do it to all.

Licencing... it is a control mechanism nothing more, if you don't play our game we will take your licence and go home, its that simple.

I can personally testify to the power these Muppet's can wield, and if allowed they will only get worse.
You can't choose who you are.....but you are the sum of your choices.......

brilliant idea badger we get togeather an auckland contingent and roll on to auckland harbour bridge in the city bound lane around 6:30am and park up and block all the lanes to the city maybes that will get there attention!...and it will let them know where the actual power lies and it is actually a democratic system that they operate in and majority have rule!....and as well in wellington block the western arterial route to the city...christchurch we will leave out cus those poor buggers have had enough strife in there life recently...invercargill...whangarei...hamilton...gisborne...etc etc, if we made a showing in these main centres around the country they would have to stop and listen!...All it will take is one hour each morning for say three to four days with a diffrent location chosen each day so they couldnt predict our movments and we would start to show them that enough is enough...for christ sake all we want is a system that doesnt rob us blind and is based on equality and fairness and one that adheers to the law and one that does not crusifiy people for being human and making the odd mistake!

The OAG made it very clear that the fees were wrong the tardiness of the board was wrong the secercey with which the board operated was wrong the manner in which the board treated the working horse(tradesmen) of the industry was wrong and yet
NOTHING has changed at the pgdb is same old same old and i for one am getting very sick of it!.

One thing ive learnt in this country of ours is the ones that make the most noise are the ones that get action! in this country if you dont take action then no action will be taken to rectify the problem!

STAND UP AND BE COUNTED PEOPLE!

I was thinking more a drive up to the beehive. I personally don't want to mess people about who are just trying to get to work to feed their families and go about their daily business (which is what we would be actually protesting about, to be left alone to get on with our lives and provide for our families).  Also I think 300 vans in Wellington would have much more impact than 300 spread over the whole of NZ.

All trades, builders, sparkys and their concerned customers, who ultimately will shoulder the burden of the extra costs. We should be able to muster a couple of people to make an impact and show our distaste for what is going on, and raise awareness.

Just a suggestion :)

I was thinking more a drive up to the beehive break out the picnic's and then sit in a semi circle and all sing Kumbaya togeather ;D! not going to work badger its a 8 hour drive down then 8 hours back from auck and im not too sure my poor old L300 would make it lol(no insult intended)...and as well if 300 vans show up outside parliment wont you be blocking off a few streets anyway and doing exactly what you said you didnt want to do?...so if your going to do it then you may as well go the whole hog and do it properly small rolling protests in local areas i believe would be much more effective...and hitting the govt in its pocket by disrupting life and money flow...this is one hell of a way to get the govts attention and get action...now we can sit here and pussyfoot around walking on egg shells or we can push the boundries and force action, its getting to that stage as i see it because the OAG report has been out for long enough and clearly we can see no REAL issues reported on have been addressed by the pgdb they are just sctatching around the edge's of the real issues trying to paint the surface of the real issues with a new color and then try to piss in our pockets and say the have addresed the issues when in fact they have only changed the out side appreance but yet the real issue still remains.
this is my view only.
